River report: browns on the move
Flows are low and clear, the cottonwoods have turned, and the streamer fishing is getting good.

Flows dropped to about 380 cfs this week and the water is as clear as it gets all year. Mornings are cold, in the low 30s at the put-in, so there’s no rush to be on the water at dawn.
What’s working
- Streamers through the deeper runs from noon on. Olive and tan, stripped fast.
- Blue-winged olives on cloudy afternoons. Size 18–20, long leaders.
- Midges in the slow water below the bridge if nothing else is going.
The browns are starting to move upstream. Please give the gravel beds a wide berth and keep your feet out of the shallow riffles.
